We are able to accept your electronic lists in various forms and then apply our direct mailing techniques to best suit your mailing preferences. Then we can address those pieces and sort them in a way acceptable to the United States Post Office, saving you money on postage. But it doesn’t stop there. We also can apply tabs to prefolded self-mailers, as well as insertion and sealing for almost any type of piece being mailed.

Mailing Templates for United States Postal Regulations
Our preformed templates are great guides to help in preparing your postcard or brochure design to comply with Postal Service regulations. The USPS requires that mailing pieces have clear space (free of any design elements) to allow for bar-coding, addressing and permit imprinting. Our templates can ensure both that the mail piece is eligible for your preferred mail service class and that any content in your piece isn't covered or obscured in the addressing and mailing process.

List Management:
Customers need to realize that any direct mailing effort is only as good as its list. Cottrell is able to help in this process by cleaning, merging, and de-duplicating your lists before we send them to the post office. We also offer additional steps such as National Change of Address (NCOA) System and Coding Accuracy Support System (CASS) Certification.
Addressing:
We can offer our customers a variety of addressing techniques because we are more than just a mail house. With our in-house printing capabilities, we can offer truly customized addressing to your exact need (within USPS regulations). This allows us to expand from the usual inkjet printing you might have as your only option at other mail houses. Plus, several of our printing machines offer variable technology, allowing us to “skip” the ink jetting process altogether, allowing your job to reach its destination faster.
Tabbing and Stamping:
Many direct mail pieces require that you apply tabs to “close” the piece, allowing it to travel through the USPS machinery. You can depend on Cottrell to place the necessary tabs required, with our inline tabbing capabilities. We also can auto-apply stamps to your direct mailing piece.
Inserting:
With our Six-Station High-Speed Inserter we are able to take your important documents, brochures, flyers, letters or cards and insert them into an envelope automatically. If you have a “creative” size, it might require that we insert it through handwork. Also, sometimes depending on the quantity or sensitivity of the job, it can make more economic since to do it by hand. But know that whether an inserting job is done on the machinery or by one of our highly accurate team-members, it will always be done with the utmost care.
